Missing the beach...

Although I did have a lovely Labor Day weekend

I still wouldn't mind being on the beach.

As long as our pup and kitty-cat came along too!

Fun in the SUN

We went to Florida this past weekend to celebrate Jonathan's birthday.

It was a great long weekend away. This was the first real vacation we've taken together.

Very relaxing and it was definitely well needed!

I put on sunscreen religiously and still burned!

Now I have some crazy tan lines and Jonathan is calling me a lobster.

He's quite the lobster himself, though.

Weekend Away

I went to the lake to visit my family this past weekend.

And after 5+ hours in the car

(getting out of Dallas on a Friday afternoon is hell)

I finally arrived!

Shanks kept me company and liked to smile

at the people putting along next to me.

A lot of people thought he was quite cute.

Sad Day for American Fairweather Soccer Fans

Saturday afternoon we cheered on the USA in the World Cup.

Too bad they lost...but still a good excuse to watch

Green Everywhere

Yesterday I went to the Dallas Arboretum for a work outing.

It was quite hot and sticky, but all the flowers were so beautiful.

I wish I could go there everyday!

The bamboo was magical.

The colors were amazing...popping everywhere you looked.

I can't believe I got this great shot of a dragonfly.

Definitely a first!

These awesome earrings were a birthday gift from a friend.

I love them dearly and was devastated that I lost one later on in the day.

I guess I'll have to rock just one and act like it was on purpose.

This shirt was perfect for a day in the heat.

It has these light and airy insets at the sides.

This part of the garden looked over the lake.

I miss riding my bike around the lake...haven't done it since 

early spring. It's been so stinking hot, I can't bear the thought of it.

Not an Ordinary Weekend

We spent the holiday weekend down at my

parents lake house around Austin.

It was great to get away and relax in the sun.

Lots of good food and best of all....homemade ice cream!

This was basically Shanks' routine the entire weekend.

Throw the toy, retrieve the toy, jump in water...repeat.

After we got home he slept like 20 hours straight.

It was nice to tire him out, because he's a ball of energy!

Kitty was glad that we came home.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

We went to a Texas Rangers game on Saturday.

I was a perfect day for tailgating and some baseball.

 It was a good game against the Cubs

but in the end Texas lost.

FYI...Cubs fans wear really cute t-shirts!

Just a Hop, Skip, & Jump to LA

Haven't had time to post in the past couple weeks

because I've been so busy.

Last weekend my dad came to visit and see my new house.

And then the past two days I was in LA for a quick business trip.

But of course I made time for shopping!

I spent a long time in H&M (aka my fave store)

You'd think Dallas would have one, but nooooo!

I'll post new outfit pics of my purchases asap.

Headed home...
